The book therefore gives essential tools to the ordinary reader approaching the world of mosaics, and valuable specific reference coordinates to the specialist. Manuela Farned was bom in Ravenna. She aftended the School for Translators and Interpreters at the University of Trieste where she studied the problems of translation in the held of mosaic with particular regard to the English language. She lives in Ravenna where she works as a translator and interpreter.
