This book has been written for people who want to get better acquainted with Lithuania by travelling her roads. The content and structure of the book have been adapted for this purpose. The book includes 18 intineraries along the main roads of Lithuania. The routes of these intineraries join together Lithuania's larger towns and cities, settlements, and places which are connected with historical events and notable people. Under each heading, the intinerary in which the location is included is specified, followed by a short description of the place's geographical situation. Next there is a brief introduction to the history and current status of the location, as well as a list of places to visit. Roads are like trees; main roads are the trunks from which limbs and branches extend. The intineraries proposed in this book are the same. The main route will lead you straight to a select point. However, you also have the option of turning off to one branch or another along the way and then returning to the main road by the same or another branch. Some intineraries even have two main roads--the choice is yours. Happy travelling!
