One dark and wet September day, more than a century of dark arts secrets were disclosed in a secret rollup. The purpose was to maintain the longevity of the secrets and to ensure the future club initiates could benefit from them well into the future.

Some of the information may be considered to go against the spirit of fair play but it is better to know what ways you could be scammed and beaten by the Dark Arts.

This book reveals some of the darkest secrets to such an extent that the reader can reach initiate level in the ancient orders and secrets of the dark side of bowls after a short practical examination and be credited with the letters D.A.D.A. after your name.

This is a must for all bowlers wanting to move their game to a different level without succumbing to any of the pitfalls that are ready to trap an innocent.

The basis of these arts was discovered in the Portsea scrolls as they are known were originally found back in September 1963 during redecoration of the clubhouse, in a niche in the rock behind the Gents urinal cistern. They have since been carbon dated to the late 1500’s.

Since then the original information has been considered so secret, powerful and dangerous in the wrong hands that it has been hidden in a secret location only known to Pig and Peg Hope and occasional new initiates.

The scrolls consist of hieroglyphics, spells, scriptures, diagrams and runes written on tablets of clay, papyrus, calves vellum and Izal Medicated paper hidden in a biscuit tin and wrapped in a newspaper declaring the outbreak of World War One in 1914.

Nobody knows exactly how old they really are or where they really originated. On one, there are details on handling delaying tactics and disturbances which is even signed proudly by Sir Francis Drake who was active 1563-1596 so was contemporary with these dates.
