112 Days: A Story of Holding On and Letting Go

112 Days is the story of a wife watching her husband make the journey from diagnosis to death from melanoma. It is taken from journals and reflections of their life together, and the way she found joy in the midst of great pain.



Brian Lawson was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic melanoma in 2012. 112 days after an oncologist delivered the news, Brian took his final breath. Along the way, his wife journaled to let friends and family know what was happening. She also journaled to cope and to prepare herself for a life she never planned.



During those 112 days she decided that she would crumble unless she looked for joy in each day. Sometimes that meant searching hard and other times joy was overwhelmingly clear. 112 Days: A Story of Holding On and Letting Go is more than a story of cancer and death. It is the story of finding a voice and making the choice to be happy and seek joy in beauty and tragedy.
