*A note on why I wrote this without using my name: I don’t think anyone should be ashamed of using an egg donor. I’m not. If I run into you in a coffeehouse, say, and you ask me how old my baby is and then tell me you’re struggling to get pregnant, I’ll tell you all about how we ultimately conceived and why you may want to consider egg donation yourself. (This scenario has happened more than once.) But I can’t ask my baby if she minds if I write about her. She would probably say, da da da da pffffft, and that doesn’t qualify as permission. I want to protect her privacy, not to mention to protect her from the potential cat scratches of the comments section. Besides, this isn't really my story anymore. It’s hers, thank goodness. All hers.
