Abilene Townsend loves her life. She owns her own matchmaking service, through which she's allowed to be in at the start of many happy marriages. The money is nice, but her true motivation is seeing other people get their happy-ever-afters.

Grayson "Mac" McCormick, on a tip from a fellow journalist begins investigating what he believes to be a very pretty scam artist. A woman who's fleeced people out of tens of thousands of dollars. With the promise of his own column in a major market newspaper, he begins the dismantling of Abilene's business, her life, and her heart.

Somewhere along the way, though, Gray learns a thing or two from Abilene about forgiveness and trust.Once she learns that he is, in fact, the anonymous writer who's destroyed her world, will she be able to forgive him? Will she ever trust him when he tells her she is his other half?
