Geophysicist Xavier Delacrúz roams the Cumbre Vieja volcano

on La Palma in the Canary Islands.



Soon he detects sulfur dioxide — the precursor to an eruption.

A small fissure, motionless for more than half a century opens

into a yawning rupture and Delacrúz embarks upon a desperate

race to warn a world ill-prepared for, and in denial of the greatest

natural disaster in history — a mega-tsunami that will claim the

lives of millions.
