Dinosaurs vary in size, shape, structure and species. They first appeared on Earth during the Triassic period, a period marked by amazing extinction events. Extinction events are changes that took place in the structure and condition of the Earth which caused the first animals to die and disappear such as earthquakes and falling asteroids.



Because of the fossils found by many paleontologists, we learned that dinosaurs are among the first animals that lived on earth many years ago. Fossils are bones, body or remains of animals that died millions of years ago which are studied by scientists called paleontologists. Paleontologists are people who study the life of the inhabitants of the world before people were born by searching for fossils and researching.
