The 2014 Seventh edition is a complete revision of all previous editions. All versions prior to the Seventh 2014 edition are no longer up-to-date, even if it says 7th edition and even with updates -- and should be discarded. The Seventh edition has a significantly changed chapter on self defense, and an additional new chapter that goes into greater detail on self defense issues.
