FRECKLES (1904)
The hero, a teenager with bright red hair and a freckled complexion, is raised in a Chicago orphanage and applies for a job with the Grand Rapids lumber company, guarding timber in the Limberlost Swamp. Although Freckles may be a nameless waif, he grabs hold of life. Everyone who meets him succumbs to the charm of his engaging personality; and his love-story with “The Angel” is full of real sentiment.
