KAWASAKI KR500 GRAND PRIX (1981): IT SHOULD HAVE BEEN A CHAMPIONSHIP CONTENDER (THE MOTORCYCLE FILES Book 7)
The story of Kawasaki's involvement in Grand Prix motorcycle racing during the period of the 500cc two-stroke machines in the years from 1980 through 1982.. The square four with its unique alloy monocoque chassis should have been a contender against the likes of Yamaha and Suzuki, especially as the engine was essentially a doubling up of the 250cc tandem twin that had won World Championships in that class. But the KR500 never fulfilled its promise. There were the occasional podium places but never a win, so Kawasaki went back to the four-stroke Superbike and Endurance classes..
