MDS MONEY - ADLs: Increase Your RUG Rates Now

The real dollars are not found in the OMRAs, short stay MDS, or significant change MDS. These are important clinically, but the real dollars are found in the ADLs and the assessments that are near misses. They are one ADL point away from the next RUG level. Capturing these near misses requires a solid general understanding on when an activity of daily living is weight bearing instead of non-weight bearing, and there are subtle nuances where the distinction is not always obvious.
