Murders by the Book
After a two-year hiatus, a killer resurfaces in a North Carolina college town to dispatch three more “guests†before retiring. After the first murder, a strangulation, librarian Jane Hall connects it to a note she saw that mentioned three meetings during the week, the first of which was to be a “breathless encounter.†She assumed the meetings were romantic get-togethers, but now she begins to wonder. It’s just an intriguing possibility until a close friend is injured during a second murder two days later. Then it becomes a personal challenge: the killer must be stopped. But as Jane begins to put the pieces together, it also becomes a personal challenge for the killer: the librarian must not interfere.
"...a very enjoyable read that keeps you locked in ... I was surprised at the end." (onlinebookclub.org)
