Raising More with Less: An Essential Fundraising Guide for Nonprofit Professionals and Board Members

Fundraising can often be an isolating and lonely profession, especially in small and one-person development shops. It doesn’t have to be that way. Raising More with Less: An Essential Fundraising Guide for Nonprofit Professionals and Board Members, is the perfect companion to accompany you in your work in raising funds for your organization.

Raising More with Less is for beginners in the field of fundraising and the nonprofit sector, as well as seasoned nonprofit professionals who want to brush up and refresh their fundraising skills. It is part of the CharityChannel Press In the Trenches series, and, like the other books in the series, is written in a particularly fun, upbeat style--as if you’re chatting with Author Amy Eisenstein at a local coffee shop.

This book will take you step-by-step through creating or improving your development program, whether your organization has no paid fundraising staff members or is fortunate enough to have one full-time staffer or more.

The author's definition of a small development shop is when a few people (staff and/or volunteers) are doing it all. In a small development office, you are responsible for more than one aspect of development (you don’t have the luxury of having a dedicated person for special events, another for writing grants, someone for individual solicitations, a database management specialist, and so on). In other words, you do it all! Your day should not be boring as you bounce from event planner to grant writer to database manager extraordinaire.

Raising More with Less is meant to serve as a resource and guide for you, if you want to accomplish your organization’s mission. Think that’s a tall order? It is. How are you going to achieve your mission if you don’t have the funds to do so?

Does your nonprofit organization need serious help with its approach to fundraising? If you are a board member or professional staff member working for a nonprofit and want to raise more money for your organization, you’ve come to the right place.

Raising More with Less is for you if you:

--Are just starting a career in fundraising.

--Are an executive director or CEO of a nonprofit.

--Are responsible for a new organization that has limited or no history or experience with fundraising.

--Are a board member who has been charged with the responsibility of leading fundraising efforts.

--Are a seasoned fundraising professional and want to brush up on the basics and get some new ideas.

--Have become stale and want to get re-energized and reinvigorated about fundraising.
