The Conditions of Participation are the rules that govern Home Health Care. At least count, there were around 400 separate bullet points to read through. While you'll never need to know all 400 of them, there are some that speak directly to you as a field nurse. In an attempt to glean my own understanding of them, I've put together the ones that I felt had the biggest impact on our collective performance. I'm sharing what I've learned about them with you. I do hope this helps you in some way.
The CoPs are scheduled for an overhaul in October of 2017. Until then, here's what we need to know about the rules that govern our practice as far as Medicare and CMS are concerned.
