Mary Hester was beside herself in worry. Why on earth would her aunt except an invitation to a house party. And not to mention, it was the Dowager Duchess of Seth’s house party. Her Aunt Liddy knew how she felt about attending gatherings that required overnight stays. They horrified her. Her sleepwalking had embarrassed her on quite a few occasions.
The Duke of Seth, Chase Creswell, had arrived from London later than he expected. But to be honest, he was dreading this house party, and was in no hurry to get there.
