The author has attempted to tell the story in the langague of the day and locatlity, setting forth prevalent superstititions and customs of that era.
Due to the fact that no records are available describing the men of the Deserter Band, description is omtted leaving numbers of interesting characters vague and indeinite, as this work has been kept within the law, and no names are used except as they appear on records.
Names that do not appear on the old Muster Roll of Captiain Knight are not mentaioned. Names are purposefullly misspelled according to the manner of spelling found on various records.
