Misfits and Castoffs Bring Glory to San Francisco

Manager Bruce Bochy referred to his 2010 Giants as a “bunch of misfits. ” The lineup was loaded with castoffs, such as bounceback-player Aubrey Huff.

The pitching staff was largely homegrown, but it featured such characters as closer Brian “The Beard” Wilson, who dyed his fuzzy monstrosity inky black, and ace Tim “The Freak” Lincecum, whose long, shiny hair would attract derisive hey-good-lookin’ whistles in enemy ballparks.
