The Memoirs of the Conquistador Bernal Díaz del Castillo (Halcyon Classics)

This Halcyon Classics ebook contains the 2-volume English translation of conquistador Bernal Díaz del Castillo's memoirs. Castillo (1492–1585) was a Spaniard of humble background who joined several Spanish expeditions to Mexico, including Hernán Cortés' famous expedition of 1519. Castillo's memoir recounts his experiences during the invasion and conquest of Mexico.

Later in life Castillo served as the military governor of Santiago de los Caballeros in Guatemala. He began writing his memoirs in 1568, but died without seeing it published in 1585.
