His Clan Chief, Aldain his mate Tori, Malcolm and Carrie go to see the clans Cailleach, who is comparable to an oracle. The woman Carrie describes beckoning her into the water sounds like their Cailleach, but why? When the group takes her to meet her, the Cailleach screeches that she is the last Chosen One and tries to kill Carrie, attacking Malcolm instead as he tries to protect his mate. The poison the Cailleach attacked him with is coursing through his body, slowly killing him. It’s an unknown poison with no cure.
